This memorial website was created in the memory of our son Stephen James Rice who was born in Georgia on May 07, 1983 and passed away on September 09, 2004 at the age of 21. Although Stephen lived only 21 short yrs he lived LIFE. He was a great son and friend. He was always trying to make people laugh. Stephen had one sister Christina and one brother Aaron who miss him dearly. His dad and I think of him all the time and miss him more than words can say. Stephen loved baseball. From the time he was 5 yrs old he played ball, at times on several teams in 1 yr. The day after having his wisdom teeth removed he went to an all day baseball camp in 90' Ga heat. You could not keep him off the ball field! He pitched and played 1st base for little league and for his school NHS. He was very lucky to be able to play with the same group of boys for most of his life.

He had many very good friends most of which he had grown up with and all of whom have remained true friends of his. Stephen loved his... . I hope you all know you how very much you meant to him. He loved you more than I could ever put into words, Please stay in touch and continue to be a part of our family. I thank God everyday that He chose me to be Stephen's mom. Being "Stephen's Mom" is one of my greatest joys. He is my firstborn...my blonde haired, brown eyed bundle of joy. Stephen left with no warning one night and our world changed forever. We will forever love and miss him...I know my heart will never heal.
Stephen was preceeded in death by his Grandfathers James Hicks and Charles Eisman. He leaves behind his very proud and loving parents, David and Patty Rice. His adoring sister and her husband, the big brother he always wanted, Christina and Daniel Hanselman. His brother Aaron, who was always trying to be just like him. His Grandmothers Dot Hicks and Shirley Eisman both of whom he would do anything for. His Aunts,Uncles and Cousins who miss him dearly. And his friends....too many to count, who helped make his life wonderful.

Were you one of The Lucky Ones?
Did you get to meet the one that lived every day as if it were his last? Did you see that smiling face, did you hear his infectious laugh? Did you know the one that had a hug for even the ones that fussed at him? Did you ever go somewhere and know when the life of the party had arrived? Did you know the one that could make the best of the worst situation? Did you feel like a special person around him? Did you ever feel so loved? Were you one of the lucky ones, that got to meet our son?
